Marc Zehntner

Marc Zehntner was born in Basel in 1972 and grew up in the region. He studied business administration in Basel and completed further training in fundraising and corporate culture. His studies and travels have taken him to various European countries as well as to Australia and South America. Since 2004 he has worked in management positions in the museum sector, first as Head of Administration & Operations and Member of the Executive Board of the Natural History Museum Basel. He then worked for around 10 years as co-director for the internationally renowned Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein (D). In autumn 2020, he took over as interim director of the Basel Historical Museum and has been director of the museum since June 2023. Marc Zehntner is married and the father of three children.
