Raised in Kleinlützel. Apprenticeship as a switchgear fitter before settling in Oberwil. Trained as an infantry officer school and then took over as head of the switchgear installation workshop at a family-run business near Basel. Head of production and assembly at Europe’s largest family-run glass-making and glass-processing company with headquarters in Switzerland from 2012 until its closure in 2016. As head of facility management and security on the management team of a senior citizens’ home near Basel for three years before joining the technical team of Basel Historical Museum on 2020. Multiple further training courses. Active volunteer firefighter. Markus Stich is married with two daughters.
