Accession registers for download

The Basel Historical Museum endorses the open government data culture and supports the government’s legislative objectives. The accession registers serve as the foundation and reference for the collection.

The accession registers record all additions to and removals from the collection and systematically assign them inventory numbers. Since 1870, the inventory numbers have followed the same format: the year the object was acquired and a serial number. This basic principle is still in use today, systematically extended to cover multi-part objects and acquired collections.

We support provenance research and, taking into account the statutory 80-year data protection period, make all accession registers publicly available. On the german version of this page, we provide PDF files for you to download directly.
