Schools

Our tours are for classes of all levels. We also offer events for universities and other educational institutions. School classes can also visit the HMB without taking a tour.

Guided tours usually last 90 minutes and take place during regular opening hours. Only one school class is permitted per tour.

Opening hours

• Barfüsserkirche: Tuesday to Sunday, 10 am–5 pm
• Haus zum Kirschgarten: Wednesday to Sunday, 11 am–5 pm
• Music Museum: Wednesday to Sunday, 11 am–5 pm

Classes from the Tarifverbund Nordwestschweiz (TNW; Northwestern Switzerland public transport fare network): free

University of Basel, FHNW, Freie Musikschule Basel and Musik-Akademie: CHF 250.-

Schools and higher education institutions outside the TNW: CHF 300.-

A maximum of two chaperones is permitted

Please register your school class at least two weeks before your planned visit to the museum. You will find the registration form under the respective school offer.

Please note the following information before your visit:

• Museum etiquette for school class visits

• For school groups from the North-West Switzerland Transport Association (TNW): free of charge
• Schools from other cantons (outside the TNW) and abroad: CHF 120. — School groups of up to 25 people in education (aged up to 30) and pupils aged 13–18 (CHF 12 per person, up to a maximum of CHF 120)
• Max. 2 accompanying adults
