Petschaft with the coat of arms of the von Schwencksfeld family

Description

A petschaft consists of a hard material into which a seal is engraved. It is pressed into a soft mass (wax, warm sealing wax, etc.), where it leaves an imprint - usually raised - of the seal. The sealing of a document served as a guarantee of its authenticity.
