The city of Basel has a rich history stretching back over 100,000 years. In the exhibition ‘Leaps Through Time – A Brief History of Basel’, pupils learn about the city’s history through 50 objects – ranging from a hand axe from the Neanderthal era to artefacts from the present day. Each object represents an event or development that has shaped the city and its region. After a brief introduction, pupils are given time to explore an object of their choice in depth and then share their findings with the group.
