In this depiction of the Ascension, Christ leaves both the physical world and the pictorial field. In general, the painter's work follows that of the scribe. Here the painter deliberately integrated the words Christus filius (Christ the Son) into the ascending figure of Christ. With artistic finesse, the boundary between the earthly and the heavenly and between word and image is broken through here in the spirit of this event.
