Portrait of Leonhard Burckhardt-Mieg von Schwenksfeld (1729-1817)
Description
The sitter was a Basel factory owner and merchant. in 1790 he acquired the stately Ernauerhof, which once stood at St. Alban-Graben 4. He turned the property into the headquarters of the company Burckhardt & Sohn. In 1817 Leonhard Burckhardt-Mieg passed away. He left behind 9 children, 35 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
