Large organ clock in Louis XV style

The music box is the work of the renowned automaton maker Pierre Jaquet-Droz (1721-1790) in La Chaux-de-Fonds, who became famous mainly for the mechanical perfection of automata and pendulums. Inside is the movement with the organ pipes on which the clock plays eight melodies. The colorfulness of the floral marquetry and the gilded bronzes make the case look particularly magnificent: Foliage in moving forms and below the dial the representation of a stag with a dog.
