The large number of toy stoves and kitchens still preserved today suggests that they were among the most popular toys. They were intended exclusively for girls, and they served not only for entertaining play. Early, playful familiarization with later tasks and work in the household was the primary goal. The kitchens and stoves were supplemented with all kinds of accessories, whose names and functions were also memorized. Many of these small appliances are functional, so that the use was really understood.
