Big theater on a small stage: paper theater

With the Biedermeier era, playing with paper theater became a matter of course for the children of the wealthy bourgeoisie. They could either follow the provided text booklets and perform fairy tales, but also the works of the great stages, faithfully according to these models. In addition, there was the possibility of following one's own imagination and inventing one's own plays
Of particular preciousness and rarity are individual one-off productions.
However, the majority of the extensive production comes from large, specialized publishers in Esslingen, Epinal, Vienna and Mainz.
