Tiled stove from the Segerhof

As can be easily seen, this kiln had a decorative function in addition to the purpose of heating. It is glazed in off-white tones and has a smooth wall, garland friezes and a vase crown. Most likely it is a work of the Basel stove builder Alexander Mende (master 1760), who is mentioned in the construction book of the Segerhof, where the stove originally stood.
