Objekt 2147
Queen and garden dwarf
Description
Located in Brüglingen between Basel and Münchenstein, Grün 80 opened
its doors to the public in April 1980. The gardening exhibition was conceived
as a springboard for ecological renewal and to stimulate reflection on the
relationship of man and nature. Its symbol was an extinct creature, a giant
dinosaur. In a national garden gnome competition, this gnome from Berne
was accorded second prize. The nature and garden show attracted nearly 3.6
million visitors, including Queen Elizabeth II of England.
