Description
Onglaze painting: fine floral painting under Paul Hannong
Paul Hannong (ca. 1700-1760) had been able to recruit three experienced ceramists for the Strasbourg manufactory since 1748. The members of the von Löwenfinck family brought valuable knowledge from their earlier places of work (Meissen, Fulda, etc.). These concerned above all the production and use of colors for painting on the glaze. This improvement of the on-glaze colors resulted in a much broader color spectrum and a very fine painting style.
