Münch Monstrance
Description
This monstrance bearing the arms of the Münch family is undoubtedly the finest of all the tower reliquaries belonging to the Cathedral Treasury. It is populated by saints Thomas, James the Greater, Stephen, Agnes, and Bridget in the arcades around the knop, Henry and Cunigunde on either side, and the Virgin inside the tower. The architecture and arcade figures can be traced back to the engravings of Martin Schongauer. From 1500 the monstrance was used to house a relic of Emperor Henry II.
