Objekt 13
Ember container with brass lid
Description
This vessel contained glowing coals or smoldering charcoal in its metal-clad interior. Wood chips could be inserted through the lion's head masks and ignited by the embers. Thus, one had fire ready for tobacco consumption without having to reignite it each time or fear the danger of fire.
