Cunigunde Monstrance

Description

This monstrance, which originally formed a pair together with the almost identical Henry Monstrance (now in the Kunstgewerbemuseum Berlin, SMB), was one of the last pieces to be made specifically for the Cathedral Treasury. The main figure inside the tracery tower is Saint Cunigunde, flanked by Saint Matthiasand a sainted bishop, while the Virgin and Child, Saint Ægidius, and another unidentified saint occupy the pinnacle.
