Clock in the form of a chimera
Description
This clock in the shape of a bird-like mythical creature is made of gilded silver. The bird's eyes are made of rubies. A straight metal spring escapement was added to the movement around 1680. This invention, then only a few years old, greatly improved the accuracy of clocks.
