Butter dish
Description
The lidded box connected to the lower plate imitates in faience a simple traditional wooden vessel, a stave bowl. Relief and painting imitate its construction: composed of wooden staves, bound together with willow branches
tied together. On top of it a flat lid like the wooden model.
