Wild boar head

Real boar's heads - almost always boar's heads - have been part of the decoration of the festive table since the 16th century. Impressive replicas in faience were created in the 18th century. Whether this two-piece tureen served only as decoration or was also filled is uncertain

This display case could be acquired thanks to the support of Mr. Jérôme Beurret, Rhyschänzli Group.
