Tiled stove

The elegant architectural kiln formerly stood on the 1st floor of a town house at Totentanz 10. It is the work of Luc II. Walter, one of the last great Strasbourg kiln ceramists. Pilasters, architrave and pediment in classicist design are decorated with applied gold ornaments. The early 19th century had a rich treasure of printed patterns for such ornaments and figural reliefs, which found the most diverse applications.
