Vitrine 3

Tasty woodcock

Description

Like most of the animal-shaped tureens of the manufactory, the two snipes are reproduced in natural size. With their heads turned around, they appear to be moving and natural; they are depicted caring for their plumage. This posture also protects their long beaks, which are prone to breakage. The snipes clasp the root system on the ground with their feet, which indicates their habitat and also serves to support the bird's body.
