Vitrine 1

Magnificent animals

Description

Tureens in the shape of birds usually appeared as a group of two on the panel. However, these two ducks are not a pair in the proper sense, as they are two drakes. The plain plumage of the females was obviously less appreciated for this decorative purpose than the splendid dress of the drakes

This display case was acquired thanks to support from the Foundation for 18th and 19th Century Arts and Crafts.
