Spittoon

Description

Spittoons were widely used in the 18th century. They were especially necessary when using chewing tobacco, but also when using snuff: "Sneeze, cough, spit," reads an instruction for its use. Spittoons had a permanent place among the smoking utensils. No one thought of shameful concealment. This is also indicated by their elaborate design.
