This important Basel floor standing clock is one of two clocks on display signed by Hans Georg Enderlin (1678-1754). It contains a musical mechanism driven by a roller, with notes struck by small hammers. In the corner faces of the dial are depicted - chased in silver - the allegories of industriousness, abundance, indolence and poverty.
