Silver clock

Description

The time on this clock is indicated by a rotating steel plate engraved with the sun and moon. Members of the Deonna family worked as watchmakers in Geneva for several generations until the end of the 18th century. The builder of this clock trained Jean-François Rousseau (1685-1763), a relative and contemporary of the philosopher, as a watchmaker.
