Rorschach test

Description

The test developed by Hermann Rorschach (1884–1922) consists of ten panels with symmetrical inkblots. The subject has to say what they see. The answers are evaluated according to a complicated system. It is not only what is seen that plays a role. It is also important whether someone interprets the image as a whole or only individual parts of it, whether a moving scene or something static is seen, or how original the answers are. The test has not only been used in psychiatry, but also in court and in job interviews. It was also standard in Basel for a long time.
