Reliquary Casket
Description
The silver plaques covering the casket are stamped with various motifs. Especially eye-catching, however, is the enamel medallion of the Virgin and Child inserted among them on the sloping lid. The inside of the casket is painted blue and decorated with gilded paper stars. The reliquary was probably used to hold the consecrated Host for the Eastertide or Corpus Christi liturgy.
