Pontifical Ring
Description
This ring was recovered from the tomb of Bishop Johann von Venningen, who died in 1478. To judge by the dragon’s heads on the shoulders, however, it must be much older than that. It seems an older ring from the Cathedral Treasury was placed inside the tomb alongside the bishop's mortal remains.
