Parts of a breakfast service

In the Empire and Biedermeier periods, it was very popular to use porcelain to imitate other, usually precious materials such as marble, precious stone or gold, leaving the character of the porcelain visible only in a few places. Here, fire-gilded bronze utensils with etched decoration are faked.
