Minute sundial
Description
As is common with minute sundials, the equatorial disk, toothed at the edge, carries the dial with the hour markings and is equipped with a large rotating hand. At one end of the hand is the small minute wheel. The pinion of the minute wheel fits into the toothing of the equatorial disc. The earlier assumption that Michael Bergauer was the "inventor" of the minute sundial was based on an incorrect reading of a year. Other watchmakers, such as Claude Cunod (active around 1672-1716) and Johann Willebrand (around 1658-1726), already created minute sundials.
