Mähly plan of the city of Basel

Description

With the help of this plan of the city of Basel from 1847, detailed views shown in the exhibition can be localized: in the north, inside the city wall, the French railroad station, in the south, outside the city wall, the first St. Jacob's monument or the city gates demolished in the course of the 19th century. In the rich foliage framing of the plan, one discovers, among other things, the Haus zum Kirschgarten and the first St. Jacob's monument.
