Object 2

Ladies secretary

The floral inlays on the front and the cover plate made of marble give the secretary a particularly elegant look. Its construction is no less refined. Thus, the furniture contains an internal compartmentalization with six small drawers and a fitted oak document box in the lower part. The secretary originally came from the family of Andreas Buxtorf-Schweighauser (1740-1815), the head guild master and mayor of Basel.
