Objekt 26
Cup with saucer
Description
The tall cup, probably used for drinking chocolate, is painted with Chinese scenes in richly ornamented quatrefoil cartouches and gold lace border. Chocolate was drunk heavily foamed in the 18th century, so high vessels were more suitable for it than shallow cups.
