Contrebasse

The double-bass by Stoppel as well as the violin by Krouchdaler Nr. 2 were not built in Basel; as instruments, they belong however to the so-called Alemanic School.

Furthermore, it can be assumed, that the double-bass was played in Basel.
The violin built in 1825 by Johannes Straub (c.1759–1847) in Rothenbach near Neustadt (room 14) belongs also to the Alemanic School of violin-makers.
