Console table with trume mirror

The console table comes from the Wendelstörferhof in Basel, also known as the "White House"

For the sophisticated furnishings of the new building, which was constructed between 1763 and 1770 by the architect Samuel
Werenfels, among other things, paintings, fabrics, tapestries, wallpaper, furniture and lighting were used,
Wallpapers, furniture and lighting fixtures from Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Koblenz,
Colmar, Constance, Innsbruck, Berne, Besançon and Nancy, either directly or through dealers
obtained. The inscription on the base of the mirror, "J. B. Dubost de
Luneville en Lorene près Nancy," gives a clue to the place of manufacture.
