Description
A bookplate (from Latin ex "from" and libris "to the books") is a slip of paper pasted into books to identify the owner. The bookplate of Johann Rudolf Burckhardt (1750-1813) shows the family coat of arms with crest as well as the name "Burckhardt vom Kirsgarten."
