Architectural Models

Description

The models show miniature-sized Gothic architectural elements such as pinnacles, tracery and ornamental gables, possibly used in the production of late Gothic tower monstrances such as the Hallwyl monstrance of the Basel Cathedral Treasure. On monstrances of this kind, the finials are usually made of separately cast parts, while the base and the shaft are wrought.
