Another Glass of Wine?
Description
The world of the dead reflects the customs of the living. This is also true of the drinking vessels found in the Frankish cemetery on Bernerring in Basel, among them a luxury drinking set consisting of a clay pitcher and glass cup. From contemporary written sources we also know what the Franks drank out of them, namely spiced wine.
The little sieve was used to strain off any leftover spices or dregs.
