Objekt 29
Woltmann wing
Description
The device is used to determine the flow velocity of water. Depending on the water pressure, the axis of the impeller rotates faster or slower. The speed of rotation is transmitted via a thread on the axle to a gear wheel with a scale from 1000 to 10,000 and a central pointer and displayed. The Woltmann vane is named after its inventor Reinhard Woltman (1757-1837), who first described the principle in 1790.
