When the fox skins the hunter … … and the bear plays the funeral march
Description
The “hunter’s comeuppance” was a popular motif in Slovenia, where this upside-down world was often painted onto beehives. The beehive board shown here is thus a reminder of a colourful tradition that arose in the late 18th century and is now largely forgotten.
