Weber Unika Orchestrion
Object description
Gebrüder Weber GmbH, (founded 1883-1931)
Waldkirch im Breisgau, 1925
Type "Weber-Unika" / with 11 rolls
The piano is a Feurich piano and shows the serial number 42000. This would have to have been built around 1926. (No. 40700 built in 1925; No. 429000 built in 1927)
The tuning pitch of the organ is 440 Hz.
In the Musikautomaten Museum in Seewen there is a similar instrument from 1917, which has an illusion automaton (an attachment with a landscape image which lights up when operated and on which shadow images move) on the lid of the orchestrion. Ours has a device for such an illusion apparatus, which could be purchased additionally.
Effects: Organ effect by labial whistling and zither effect (triggerable on the piano device).
