Tower clock

Description

The clock with quarter-hour strike, hour strike and alarm is crowned with a crucifix. The ivory carved skull resting in the dome is a sign of transience often found on clocks. The clock, made around 1620 in Augsburg, was newly fire-gilded in 1890 by the Basel goldsmith Ulrich Sauter.
