Theodolite
Description
The theodolite is an angle measuring instrument used in surveying to measure horizontal and vertical angles. This specimen has two degree scales engraved in opposite directions from 0° to 360° on the circle. It has four fixed sights, each 90° apart, and two mobile sights, in the center with a compass pointing south. The instrument is mounted on a wooden base with a ball joint.
