Description

The table shows the units Fahrenheit, Réaumur, Newton and de l'Isle in comparison with the "Thermomètre Universel" by Micheli du Crest. The Geneva politician, physicist, cartographer and surveyor Jacques-Barthélemy Micheli du Crest (1690-1766) was sentenced to life imprisonment for political activities and imprisoned for 18 years in Aarburg Castle, where he also made this table. His main focus was the further development of the thermometer.
