Description
«Silver taler» made of copper
During a major financial crisis in Sweden in the 17th and 18th centuries, large copper plates corresponding to the value of silver talers were stamped and issued as currency. During the Great Northern War from 1715 to 1719 small copper coins were issued as credit money at the value of silver talers, but this practice was soon abandoned again.
