Objekt 1
Storm clock
Description
The design of the clock alludes to poetry in its motifs. The mythical horse Pegasus and the inscription "Hippocrene" can be seen on the front below the dial. Hippocrene is the name given in Greek mythology to a spring which, according to legend, was created by a hoofbeat of Pegasus and whose water had the power to awaken poetic inspiration in the drinker. The inscription "HOMERE VIRGILE" above the dial refers to the two poets Homer (2nd half of 8th century BC) and Virgil (70 BC -19 BC). Finally, the figure leaning against the case represents a muse of poetry.
