Skylight grille
Description
The skylight grille belongs to a door frame with a special keystone. Both the stylized, rather austere overall appearance and the ornamental forms, such as egg bar and villi in the horizontal, are elements indicative of French locksmithing. In Basel, the French style is less common. The stair railing from 1780 here in the Haus zum Kirschgarten is the best known representative of 18th century French locksmith art in Basel.
