Sing, birdie, sing!
Description
The «serinette» was developed in the 18th century. Named after the French word for siskin, serin, it is a bird organ that plays melodies for songbirds to learn. Its repertoire includes well-known folksongs, hunting songs and dance tunes. When the drum is rotated, metal pins activate the valves that let air into the organ pipes and thereby makes the organ sound.
