Counters, or jetons, used for calculating on counting boards and as tokens struck in the context of building a city wall («wall foundation medals») also offered lords and rulers the opportunity of self-display.

Padua. So-called wall medal in the name of Francesco I da Carrara, probably used as foundation deposit for the city walls of Padua
